Another person was remanded in custody over the dance music video after pleading not guilty.

Didi Muchwa Mugisha, 28, pleaded guilty before a Kampala court on Thursday for producing and trafficking pornography, following the release of a pop music video which includes a singer writhing in her underwear.

He was fined 200,000 Ugandan shillings (75 dollars, 60 euros), but had faced a year in jail had he failed to pay, according to the Daily Monitor newspaper.

Colleague Jemimah Kansiime, 20, pleaded not guilty. She was remanded in prison until a court hearing on November 13.

Veteran President Yoweri Museveni signed the anti-pornography and dress code legislation into law in February, outlawing "provocative" clothing and banning scantily clad performers from television.

It broadly defines pornography as "any representation of the sexual parts of a person for primarily sexual excitement", but rights groups said the law has encouraged public attacks on women wearing skimpy clothing.

Mugisha, 28, asked for leniency saying he had not realised the video broke the law, the Daily Monitor said.

"I am so sorry that I got involved in that production," he was quoted as saying. "I didn't know about the law, I will never get involved in such work again."
